NEW BOOK BY PETERBOROUGH PHOTOGRAPHER IS A DREAM

‘Street Dreams’ are made of this… a fantastic collection of street photography that is.

Peterborough photographer Chris Porsz has a new book out, Street Dreams, featuring some of his favourite images - and ours.

The former paramedic is well known in the city for his wonderful photos of local characters and has created a marvellous social history resource capturing the faces and places in Peterborough.

His new book Street Dreams brings together not just his pictures from Peterborough but some from around the world from some of his other book projects, candidly capturing fleeting moments in his unique way.

Chris told ESP – “If all the world's a stage then the street is my studio.

"This book is a retrospective of my favourites from over the last decade and is in hardback with over 300 pages.

"It comprises images from New York, around Europe and the UK and finishes up in little old Peterborough.”

You can buy Street Dreams by contacting Chris through his social media or his website www.chrisporsz.com or by visiting his stall in the main atrium at Peterborough City Hospital where he’ll have copies for sale from Wednesday December 21 onwards.

Or if you’re Christmas shopping, you can pick up a copy from his stall in Queensgate shopping centre on Saturday December 24 on the upper floor near the glass lift.

You can view more of Chris’s photos at Peterborough City Hospital too. Having spent many years working as a paramedic in Peterborough, Chris pulled together a touching tribute to the staff from the city’s hospitals in his NHS themed book, Just Be Kind.

Now a mural based using some of those images have been used to brighten up the long corridor outside the general outpatients department. It can be seen now but when it’s officially opened Chris will be handing over a cheque raised from sales of his books for local breast cancer clinical trials and the oncology day unit.

One of his most popular books was Barking! a collection of characterful pictures of man’s best friend. You can view some of the brilliant images of dogs he’s taken at Nene Park, a popular spot for dog walkers, in a special exhibition coming to Ferry Meadows.

It will be on show in February around the lakes and includes 100 of his best images which will be on display along the lake path from the main shop down to the Badger adventure playground.

All of Chris Porsz’s photography books are available on www.chrisporsz.com
