Christmas at the Railway: Santa's Reindeer Rescue. A festive adventure for all ages - all aboard for memories that last a lifetime.

I recently had the pleasure of taking my seven-year-old son, a close friend and her 16-year-old daughter to the preview of the magical event at Nene Valley Railway - Christmas at the Railway: Santa’s Reindeer Rescue (running from Saturday 29 November to Wednesday 24 December). 

From the moment we stepped in, the entire experience was joyful, immersive and absolutely worth every penny.

We wandered through themed rooms where festive songs filled the air, we made our own reindeer food, and of course, we met Santa himself in a proper grotto-style setting. Then came the highlight for every one of us: a steam-hauled train journey through wintry surroundings, where more magic awaited around every bend.

The younger child was wide-eyed with awe, the teenager laughed just as much as us grown-ups, and we all found ourselves grinning ear-to-ear. It’s rare to find an attraction that engages little kids, older teens and parents alike - but this absolutely nailed it.

Everything from the live singing, the hands-on craft activity, the Santa visit and that beautiful steam train ride came together to create something that felt timeless. We’ve all been absolutely buzzing about it since our visit.
