There are now more opportunities for cricket fans to have a crack at the sport.
As part of Vivacity’s continuing investment into community and leisure facilities in the city, four new artificial cricket wickets have been installed at Bushfield and Werrington Leisure Centres, Bretton Park and Orton Park.
If you were struggling to find a cricket pitch for practice or matches then these will be perfect for you, with the installation being completed in co-operation with local councillors for the continuing growth of junior cricket in the city.
The wickets have been updated and are bookable in advance at participating sports centres now. The wickets at Bushfield compliments the leisure centre’s recent refurbishment, which now boasts a new 3G football pitch and tennis facility.
The update was performed in co-operation with Orton Longueville Parish Council, Orton Park Cricket Club and Bretton Community Sports Forum, as well as a number of councillors from Peterborough City Council who jointly invested in the new wickets for use by the community.
The wickets are available to be hired from 5pm on evenings and from 9am on weekends. They cost £30 per booking for training sessions or a T20 match, or if you are booking for over 30 games, they will cost £50 per booking.
