MEET TOP ARTIST @ CITY GALLERY

Visual artist Michael Takeo Magruder will be chatting about his latest exhibition in Peterborough.

The City Gallery, Peterborough, in conjunction with Metal Culture, will be hosting a talk with artist Michael Takeo Magruder to coincide with his exhibition currently showing at the gallery, ‘Living Data’.

The talk will be held at the City Gallery, Priestgate, Peterborough, on March 18 from 6pm, with the talk starting from 6.30pm.

Michael will be in conversation with Simon Poulter, Associate Curator at Metal Culture, to discuss his current work and themes surrounding the ubiquity of digital networks and data in contemporary life.

Michael Takeo Magruder is an internationally recognised visual artist working with computational and new media, including real-time data, immersive environments, mobile devices and virtual worlds. In the last 15 years, Michael has been showcased in over 250 exhibitions and his projects have been widely supported in the UK, EU and US.

In 2010, Michael was selected to represent the UK at ‘Manifesta 8: The European Biennial of Contemporary Art’ and he is currently a researcher and artist-in-residence in the Department of Digital Humanities, Kings College London, investigating ways of combining science and humanities scholarship with digital arts practice.

Simon Poulter has worked within the art and technology sector for twenty years. He has established a national profile both as an artist and curator, working with all of the UK’s leading art and technology organisations.
