Deck the halls with glitter balls…
Sir Bruce Forsyth returns to the ballroom alongside Tess Daly as the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special lights up Christmas Day on BBC One, with six of the most memorable contestants from years… including our very own Louis Smith MBE.
This year the ladies tripping the light fantastic, just in time for Christmas, are: Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, actress Lisa Riley and S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens. The gentlemen set to do battle of the ballroom alongside them are: Peterborough’s very own Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, TV presenter Chris Hollins and astrologer Russell Grant.
This year’s Christmas show will have a special pantomime theme, with all of the Christmas stars taking on iconic roles from some of the UK’s favourite pantos. Judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood will also be joining in the festive fun, dishing out some Christmas cheer and scores.
Professional dancers Aljaž Skorjanec, Robin Windsor and Tristan MacManus will partner the female celebrities, and Aliona Vilani, Iveta Lukosiute and Joanne Clifton will partner the male celebrities.
The pairings are as follows:
Louis Smith and Aliona Vilani
Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Aljaž Skorjanec
Lisa Riley and Robin Windsor
Rachel Stevens and Tristan MacManus
Chris Hollins and Iveta Lukosiute
Russell Grant and Joanne Clifton
All six couples will perform a pantomime-inspired yuletide routine in a bid to be crowned 2014 Christmas champions and lift the famous silver star trophy… but we know who our vote goes to!
Go Louis!!!
