The Friday night will have a jazz ‘n’ blues feel and will be rounded off by the Howard Rose Band. Howard found fame on BBC One’s The Voice and singer Howard was born in West Deeping.

Saturday early afternoon will be a showcase for new artists and folk music, and later on the tempo will step up a notch with hi-octane performances from local staples The Gangsters and One Eyed Cats.

Sunday will feature a more classical style in the afternoon, with Stamford favourites Tin Pigeons rounding off the weekend.

Other acts on the line up include Saturday headliners Little Mammoths (pictured left), who feature a former member of rock band Noah and the Whale.

They will be joined over the weekend by Bianca and the Top Cats (pictured top right), Frumenty, Pembroke Tenneson, guitarist Steve Bean, harpist Henrietta Smith, mezzo soprano Leilani Barratt, Michael Keithson and the Mark Hill Jazz Quartet.

Early bird weekend tickets are on sale from www.clickit-tickets.co.uk. Tickets can also be bought in person at the Stamford Arts Centre in St Mary’s Street, Stamford.

Market Square Group Director Paul Kennedy said: “The Stamford Music Festival bill will appeal to fans of all different types of genres.

“We will have a main stage of music surrounded by other entertainment including food and drink stalls, children’s rides and a craft market.

“We urge people to take advantage of the reduced early bird tickets prices that are on sale online for the remainder of May. Tickets will be available after this date but will cost slightly more.”

The festival will run from 5pm to 9.30pm on the Friday, 11am to 9.30pm on the Saturday and 11am to 8pm on the Sunday. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 12 get in free.

Market Square Group is also hosting the Stamford Food and Drink Festival on the Town Meadows from Friday June 17 to Sunday June 19.
