Music is back on Stamford Town Meadows – and the bill for the Stamford Music Festival is taking shape.

Organised by the Market Square Group, the festival, which will have a relaxed family friendly atmosphere, is being held on the Meadows from Friday July 15 to Sunday July 17.

Early bird tickets for the event, priced at £3 for Friday, £5 for Saturday, £3 for Sunday and £8 for the full weekend are on sale online until Tuesday May 31.

The Friday night will have a jazz ‘n’ blues feel and will be rounded off by the Howard Rose Band. Howard found fame on BBC One’s The Voice and singer Howard was born in West Deeping.

Saturday early afternoon will be a showcase for new artists and folk music, and later on the tempo will step up a notch with hi-octane performances from local staples The Gangsters and One Eyed Cats.

Sunday will feature a more classical style in the afternoon, with Stamford favourites Tin Pigeons rounding off the weekend.

They will be joined over the weekend by Bianca and the Top Cats (pictured top right), Frumenty, Pembroke Tenneson, guitarist Steve Bean, harpist Henrietta Smith, mezzo soprano Leilani Barratt, Michael Keithson and the Mark Hill Jazz Quartet.

Early bird weekend tickets are on sale from Tickets can also be bought in person at the Stamford Arts Centre in St Mary’s Street, Stamford.

Market Square Group Director Paul Kennedy said: “The Stamford Music Festival bill will appeal to fans of all different types of genres.

“We will have a main stage of music surrounded by other entertainment including food and drink stalls, children’s rides and a craft market.

“We urge people to take advantage of the reduced early bird tickets prices that are on sale online for the remainder of May. Tickets will be available after this date but will cost slightly more.”

The festival will run from 5pm to 9.30pm on the Friday, 11am to 9.30pm on the Saturday and 11am to 8pm on the Sunday. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 12 get in free.
