LIDO OPENS WITH 90p SWIM

Ready to take an early season dip at the Lido this weekend for 90p?!

Peterborough’s historic Lido is celebrating its 90th birthday this year, opening its doors this weekend for an extended season that is packed with special events. The first of these is a chance to make a splash on the opening weekend and swim for just 90p!

Open for two sessions on Saturday, 11am to 1.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm, then on Sunday for an early morning dip from 7am to 9.30am and 9.30am to 12pm. Places are limited so swimmers are advised to book online at www.vivacity.org/book to avoid disappointment.

The pool will then be open daily throughout the Easter holidays for heated outdoor

swimming. Check the website for all session times, which include evening swims on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Lido team told us: “We’re delighted to be starting the season earlier this year and are keeping everything crossed for a mild Easter. 90 years is a huge milestone for a building that has survived a bombing, fire and numerous threats of closure! We invite everyone from Peterborough and further afield to join in the celebrations.

“As well as regular swimming sessions and fitness classes, we’ll be having an action-packed party weekend at the end of May, sunrise and sunset swims for the Summer Solstice, paint and dip sessions, midnight swims and outdoor cinema, to name just a few of the events to look forward to this year.”

The Lido has a 50m main pool, smaller children’s pool and a splash pool for toddlers. There’s also a large grass area, children’s play park and the Lido Café, which serves hot and cold refreshments.

Keep up to date with all upcoming events at the Lido by visiting www.vivacity.org/lido90 or by following @pborolido on Facebook and Instagram.  Of course ESP will keep you up to date too!
