JEFF CUMMINS ART EXHIBITION

Right Between the Eyes, a major retrospective of the work of British illustrator Jeff Cummins, opens on Saturday June 14 at Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery.

This exciting exhibition explores the creative legacy of an artist whose vivid imagery has left an indelible mark on pop culture over the past five decades and ties in nicely with the current unofficial Doctor Who exhibition.

Jeff Cummins is best known for his distinctive work on Kung Fu Monthly – where he brought Bruce Lee to life for a generation of martial arts fans – as well as his striking album covers for Paul McCartney and other music legends.

His instantly recognisable cover illustrations for Doctor Who Target and Virgin books, and iconic designs for Radio Times and other major magazines, cemented his reputation as one of the leading illustrators of his era.

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to showcase a collection of my artworks before the people of Peterborough,” said Cummins. “The collection spans a lifetime’s career as an Illustrator and Artist in a very public and competitive arena.

"The exhibition will reflect my colourful journey, through many original artworks, prints and memorabilia, which will hopefully entertain and evoke nostalgia of a golden age of commercial art.”

Right Between the Eyes, open until September 21, invites visitors to step into the vibrant world of original paintings, prints and memorabilia. The exhibition is free to visit and is perfect for art lovers and pop culture enthusiasts alike.

Guests are also encouraged to extend their visit with a trip into the Art Gallery for Adventures in Time & Space – an Unofficial Doctor Who Exhibition, which is also currently running at the museum. (Please note, entry tickets are required for this exhibition, £5 adults & £3 child).
