Peterborough band Idolising Nova will rock The Met Lounge tonight before hitting the road with The Vamps. Chloe Wilkinson chatted to the guys for ESP…
Peterborough’s favourite home-grown indie-rock band, Idolising Nova are set to head out across Europe this month supporting The Vamps. I recently met up with the boys to find out how well they were preparing for their big adventure.
“It doesn’t seem real and I don’t think it will until we get there,” says guitarist Kris Lee after being asked about how the three felt when finding out they were supporting The Vamps.
“When we were at the BBC and The Vamps were performing on The One Show, I [Jack] introduced myself to the manager as I recognised him, gave him a CD and he emailed us to tell us he liked it… we were chatting for a while… we’re best mates now.”
Idolising Nova have recently played two hometown shows at The Met Lounge, with their headliner selling out before the gig.
Jack explained to me the difficulties of getting the band on their feet, “It’s hard as a new band. When you try and get a gig somewhere like London they will ask you how many tickets you will sell and you have to say none because you’ve never played their before but when we get opportunities like this, it’s really good.”
The band’s music has been heard on the likes of This Morning, BBC Radio Wales and they seem to be growing their fan base whilst gaining more recognition with every new single release or show played.
Idolising Nova’s latest release, ‘Don’t Blame Me’ is available on all streaming platforms and iTunes.
Don’t miss their home town show tonight, Friday May 4, supporting Airways at The Met Lounge – limited tickets will be available on the door.
