WONKY present House Music Legends X-Press 2 on Saturday May 3 at Radius, Peterborough.

WONKY are quite simply putting Peterborough on the house music map this May bank holiday weekend with the mighty house music legends X-Press 2.

WONKY have been running underground house nights for 5 years, previous guests include Slipmatt at events in Peterborough and the likes of Nick Harris [NRK and Stoned Immaculate] for WONKY ON TOUR at Ministry of Sound. Juan Baptiste, the promoter and founder of WONKY has decided to surface from the underground party scene that he has been immersed in for the last 20 or so years with a new mantra – “Go big or go home! And you don’t get much bigger than X-Press 2, end of!” comments Baptiste.

“Peterborough is now a destination city for upfront house music, just look at the success of nights like Mixology, and especially and how much the Shades of Rhythm gigs have smashed it in the Sol Garden over the last 6 months. So the time is right to bring the likes of X-Press 2 to bigger venues such as Radius to take things to the next level,” comments Baptiste. X-Press 2 are legendary dance floor vanguards at the pinnacle of the international DJ fraternity, with 25 years of being in, and DJing at, amazing clubs and parties including the acid-house dance floors of Shoom and Spectrum and the Balearic playgrounds of Ibiza.

The event starts at 5pm with a free Terrace party at the Sol Garden. This is hosted by The Chill Lounge, Jo G and Rayan Gee, along with Zoe Roberts and Helena Julia. The main event starts at 10pm and goes on till 4am, with WONKY residents Juan Baptiste, BassMonkee and Miss Purdy. X-Press 2 will be playing a 2 hour set during the night.  Tickets will be on sale at the Sol Garden free Terrace party for £7. The final ticket release will go on sale on the door at Radius for £10. Barry Williams and Twisted Audio will be running the audio and visual show for the event. Williams commented – “A lot of planning has gone in to the X-Press 2 event which is going to take Peterborough Clubbing to the next level with a state of the art VOID Sound System and laser show.” This is the first of a series of quarterly events that WONKY are planning to put on at Radius this year, with major artists already lined up. “We need the support of Peterborough resident house heads to make these events happen in the future. So come down to the pre-party on the Terrace and get your tickets!” says Baptiste Contacts:
