Thousands visit Heritage Festival and ESP was there to capture the action…
Vivacity has told ESP that the Peterborough Heritage Festival saw a record number of visitors on its big weekend of June 22-23 and we’re pleased to hear it is definitely set to return!
A grand total of 24,883 people weren’t put off by the showery weather, and ventured outside to visit the action-packed event – an increase of 9% on the previous year’s festival.
This year’s Heritage Festival featured over 300 costumed re-enactors from some of the country’s top Living History groups, many of who took part in the main arena’s spectacular battle demonstrations!
It was a fantastic weekend and if you missed out, make sure you drop by the next event.
Families enjoyed the children’s zone, period market, falconry displays and live music. Particularly popular were the life-sized dinosaurs outside St John’s Church, which tied in with this year’s theme of science and innovation, in association with the Natural History Museum.
The Heritage Festival will be back in 2014 even bigger and better than before!
Keep an eye out for an announcement of the dates on the Vivacity website www.vivacity-peterborough.com
