Generous shoppers at Springfields Outlet Shopping donated more gifts than ever through The Giving Tree scheme.
The campaign for The Giving Tree with Heart FM at the centre in Spalding was another huge success once again in 2016 with shoppers bagging a bargain for themselves and donating to local charities at the same time.
Previously the total number of gifts donated was 3,350 but for 2016 a fantastic total of 3,788 gifts were donated which the Heart FM team collected and delivered well in time for Christmas.
During the time The Giving Tree was at Springfields the Heart Angel team retagged, collected and distributed the gifts 27 times across the duration of the campaign.
The main beneficiaries were five charities: Woman’s Aid Peterborough, Clare Lodge, Locality Teams at Cambridgeshire County Council, Axiom Housing Association and Coram Adoption Services as well as other social services across the area.
A spokesman for Springfields told ESP – “We are in awe every year at the generosity of customers and this year has been no exception. Thanks goes to the team who have worked tirelessly to get this volume of gifts out to all the charities and organisations in time for Christmas.
“Having met and developed relationships with many of the charities and organisations who benefit from this campaign, we can assure you that these gifts really do change a child’s life, giving them a reason to smile when life hasn’t given them many other reasons too thus far.”
