Come rain or shine, Sacrewell is celebrating summer in style with a host of fresh activities to brighten your visit between July 19 and September 4.
New for their 50th anniversary year, there’s an exciting line-up of events including daily ferret races, parachute games and pet pioneers sessions where you can meet some of our fluffy friends.
If you want to take a closer look around the farm and meet the animals then join a Sacrewell explorer guided walk or enjoy a self led wildlife trail or scavenger hunt.
They’ll still be running regular attractions every day. Have a go at picking the winner in the popular lamb national races or jump on a bumpy tractor ride around Sacrewell. Try your hand at pond dipping and see what interesting creatures you can find lurking there or enjoy the thrills and spills of the duck race.
And should the traditional British summer rain arrive during your stay then their new £250,000 play barn is just the place to go, providing plenty of indoor fun.
A number of special events are also being held at Sacrewell throughout the summer with pet day and volunteer day taking place on August 10. These are closely followed by a pirate themed teddy bears adventure day on August 24.
Your own small pets, such as rabbits and guinea pigs, are the stars of the show for pet day. Take them along with you for the chance to enter all sorts of funny competitions and win a prize.
Anyone interested in joining Sacrewell’s growing team of volunteers is also encouraged to visit on August 10 to discover more about the vital role they play and how to get involved.
Teddy bears adventure day on August 24 promises lots of fun and the chance for your favourite cuddly toy to attempt bungee jumping, raft rides and many other daredevil activities.
So with the school holidays fast approaching, look no further than Sacrewell to provide a fantastic day out for all the family, whatever the weather.
The farm’s open every day from 9.30am – 5pm. For more info visit www.sacrewell.org.uk or call 01780 782254.
