ESP PHOTOGRAPHER RUNS CAMBRIDGE HALF MARATHON IN POSH SHIRT FOR NSPCC

ESP photographer Chris Brudenell will be staging his own local derby as he braves his Posh shirt to run the Cambridge Half Marathon.

Footy fan Chris will be donning his Peterborough United kit to join thousands pounding the streets of Cambridge on Sunday March 3 raising money for the NSPCC.

Chris started running in a bid to lose weight and mark turning 40 – he went from zero to his first half marathon in just over a year and has shed nearly eight stone.

“At 23 stone my health was going down hill and I struggled to get up the stairs. On my 39th birthday I decided that it was time to make a change. I didn’t want to be fat and 40!

“I started out slowly only running for a few seconds at a time but soon started to notice a difference and the weight started to come off and the distances went up. To date I’ve lost nearly eight stone and discovered a love for the sport on the way.”

Since the inaugural event in 2012, the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon has established itself as one of the UK’s biggest and most beautiful half marathons. This year’s event will once again see 10,000 runners take on the spectacular 13.1 mile course through the historic city of Cambridge and Chris can’t wait to be one of them.

“I’m proud to say that I went from zero to half marathon in only 15 months!

“I did the Peterborough half marathon (PGER) last October and as soon as I finished I started to look for another challenge. Places are very limited but I was lucky enough to secure a place in the Cambridge Half Marathon along with my running buddy Carly Vine.

“As a Peterborough United fan I really wanted to run in a Posh shirt as Cambridge are our local rivals – I’m sure this will get me noticed!”

Our ESP photographer will be raising funds for Peterborough United selected charity The NSPCC. Please give what you can and wish Chris luck.
