ED’S EASY DINER DISHES UP A SLICE OF 50’s AMERICANA

The ESP team aren’t the only ones with something to celebrate this month. Staff at Peterborough’s newest restaurant, Ed’s Easy Diner are celebrating after a successful opening.

Business has been brisk with locals and visitors stopping off at the A605 Haddon services to keep the kitchen and waiting staff busy with a whole lotta order makin’.

The offer of a FREE BURGER has definitely caught the imagination!

Just sign up and join Ed’s Club to take it up at www.edseasydiner.com

It’s all done to the sounds of classic 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll. A killer soundtrack from the King (Elvis) to the Killer himself (Jerry Lee Lewis) was the perfect accompaniment when we visited.

At Ed’s you can either relax at a booth or table or sit on a stool at the counter that’s equipped with a traditional ‘Dime-Selector’ juke box and select your favourite hits from the 1950’s. In the tradition of all the classic American diners you can also see your food being freshly prepared in the open kitchen.

Whilst there we tucked into a mouth-watering Route 66 burger with atomic fries and a delicious ice cream Coke float but the vast menu has something to suit every taste (including gluten free) and waitress Peggy Sue Hayley pointed us in the direction of a downloadable app and online loyalty scheme that will benefit customers on repeat visits.

There are also 10 chances to win £1000 daily by telling Ed’s about your visit at www.edseasydinerfeedback.com

With Billy Connolly’s latest ITV travel documentary along the legendary Route 66 about to hit TV screens the British love affair with 50’s American culture is about to undergo a resurgence and Ed’s general manager Ben Tanner is already planning to have regular visits of locally owned American 50’s cars. A great idea that’s sure to prove as popular as the food and service being served up.
