Motorpoint’s first ever Drive in Cinema in Peterborough has raised over £1,100 for charity.
The UK’s largest independent car retailer teamed up with Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice to put on a special screening of The Greatest Showman at the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre.
And film lovers from across the city flocked to the popular out of town venue recently to watch the award-winning musical starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Rebecca Ferguson. Over 200 people attended the event raising a total of £1,132 for the Hospice.
Tom Stanton, General Manager of Motorpoint in Peterborough, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves at our first-ever Drive In Cinema watching The Greatest Showman at Serpentine Green. And the best thing about it was that collectively we helped raise an impressive amount of money for our charitable partner – Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.”
Motorpoint which is based on Edgerley Drain Road in the city, has been a charitable partner of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall for the last two years during which time it’s raised thousands for the popular hospice supporting events including the annual Dragon Boat Festival.
The car dealership has been established in Peterborough for over 15 years ago and stocks over 500 low mileage, nearly new cars from over 30 different car manufacturers, all of them available to buy and drive away on the same day backed by its recently launched Price Pledge.
Nilesh Patel, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, added: “I really can’t thank Motorpoint enough for organising the Drive In Cinema. It proved really popular and will help to make a real difference to the lives of people in Peterborough under the care of the Hospice. The funds raised will help us to continue to provide our compassionate care and be there for local families when it matters.”
