The Dragonfly Hotel is currently undergoing a huge refurbishment programme in its rooms and restaurant and from what we’ve seen it’s going to look pretty impressive once complete!
The hotel’s restaurant is now open all day and you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy a meal there. We popped in to sample some of the latest dishes and weren’t disappointed.
The menu includes a range of hand stretched and freshly topped pizzas and ice cream parlour for those with a sweet tooth plus sandwiches if you fancy a snack.
We tried baked nachos (£5.45) crispy chicken strips (£4.95) and cauliflower fritters (£4.95) from the starters – all were crisp and tasty.
For mains it was a gloriously filling BBQ pulled pork pizza (£10.95) delicious Thai fishcakes (£11.95) and a tempting fish finger buttie (£6.95).
Looking ahead to Christmas, The Dragonfly offers special party nights where they’ll do all the hard work for you – plus of course you can make a night of it and stay over!
There’s a delicious 3 course festive dinner to enjoy for £24.95 on Thursdays or £26.95 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Afterwards you can hit the dancefloor and dance the night away until midnight with their DJ playing all your favourite tunes from past and present. You’re not limited to roast turkey – there’s a choice of fillet of hake or spinach and ricotta tortellini as well plus a choice of 3 starters and desserts.
There are also festive dinners on offer throughout December offering 3 courses for £19.95 or why not try a festive afternoon tea for £14.95 with a few seasonal twists to this timeless classic.
The Dragonfly Hotel and restaurant at Thorpe Meadows is open daily from 12 – 9pm and there’s a children’s menu available.
