DOG SWIMS ARE BACK

Make a splash with your four-legged friends!

After a bumper season to celebrate Peterborough Lido’s 90th birthday, it’s almost time for you and your four-legged friends to make a splash in the end of season dog swims!

By popular demand, the Lido will be closing the 2026 season with three days of special dog swims on Sunday 4th, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th October, and there’s still time to book your space.

A spokesperson for Peterborough Lido said: “The dog swims have become such a popular event in the Lido calendar and it’s a really fun way to finish the season. Unlike some dog swims, owners must get in the pool with their dogs and it’s always great to see families having fun with their pets. The water is still heated, with the temperature currently at 25 degrees, so it’s a swim that everyone will enjoy.”

Four 90 minute swimming sessions are available on each date. As well as swimming, there will be a variety of pet stalls to visit and the Lido Café will be open, serving both human and canine refreshments.

There are, of course, a number of health and safety guidelines to follow, including that an adult must accompany the dog in the water and take full responsibility for them whilst at the event.
