CROWDS FLOCK TO AUTUMN SHOW

Autumn Show celebrates record attendance as families flocked to the annual show.

From giant vegetables to Strongman challenges, there were certainly big things happening at Peterborough’s Autumn Show – including the event’s best attendance to date.

The popular one-day annual event, which this year saw children’s favourites Fireman Sam and Norman Price making special appearances – welcomed close to 10,000 visitors.

The fantastic family fun day out at Peterborough Arena and the East of England Showground is the only event of its kind in the region, mixing outdoor pursuits and country living through livestock, displays and shopping opportunities.

Brand new for this year were the Strongman Challenge, the Great Eastern Craft Fair and the Vintage Fashion Show – which organised and hosted by volunteers from the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall appeal.

Event organiser Kerry Buttriss said: “The Autumn Show is always a popular and well attended show which we try to build on year after year. The great weather and range of regular crowd-pleasers and new attractions certainly help to boost visitor numbers this year.

“We were delighted with the turnout and the great feedback we’ve received so far from traders, exhibitors and visitors alike.”
