CITY COLLEGE TO THROW 70th ANNIVERSARY PARTY

Do you know someone who’s 70 who deserves a VIP invite to  the City College’s big party?

For the past 70 years, City College Peterborough has been providing education for adults and young people – offering everything from archaeology to willow weaving, apprenticeships and vocational courses to hobbies and pastimes.

And to mark this milestone year – the College is planning a huge party at the Brook Street-based college in just a few weeks time – and is now searching for 70 people who celebrate their 70th birthday in 2014 to include on their VIP guest list.

Nominations are now open for those looking to secure a place – and party organisers at the college are appealing to  Peterborough people to nominate anyone who fits the bill.

The party will take place on May 21 – and will include a three-course meal prepared by the college’s own catering students.

City College Peterborough’s Principal, Pat Carrington, said: “This is a truly exciting year for us, and we have numerous special events in the pipeline to mark our 70th milestone – not least the party planned for 70 70-year-olds.

“We have a limited number of places available and we want local people who are also celebrating their 70th birthday this year, or know someone who is celebrating their 70th birthday, to put their name forward to have the chance to join us, with a guest, at our party.

“People are encouraged to get their nominations to us as soon as possible as plans are plans are well under way for what will be a fantastic occasion and, of course, another piece of City College Peterborough’s history.

“We anticipate huge interest in this appeal and some wonderful characters joining together for this memorable event.”

If you know someone wishing to be considered as one of the special party guests they need to put their name and contact details forward to the college via email 70@citycollegepeterborough.ac.uk, via the website www.citycollegepeterborough.ac.uk or call 01733 761361. Nominations can also be posted or presented in person to City College Peterborough, Brook Street, Peterborough PE1 1TU.
