CHRISTMAS SOUL SPECIAL @ RADIUS

Local eight-piece soul band, Motor City Vipers, are once again teaming up with some of the region’s top soul DJs to host a Christmas Soul Special on Saturday December 19.

Catch them live at Radius  (above The Solstice) on Northminster Road in Peterborough.

“It’s been another busy year for us as a band,” says frontman Andy Whittaker.

“We’ve played more weddings and private functions than ever this year, along with some very high-profile events, including the opening social event of the TUC Conference in Brighton, so we’re looking forward to co-hosting a local night of soul with our friends from Tabernacle.”

Motor City Vipers were formed in the Spring of 2009 and quickly established themselves as one of the region’s most exciting soul bands; playing some of the greatest soul hits including Motown and Northern Soul classics. Their reputation as a live band has seen them playing on the same bill and supporting the likes of Geno Washington, Kiki Dee, Neville Staple, and The Commitments.

“We’re looking forward to what promises to be a great night out,” said Tabernacle founder and DJ Julz Roberts. “For the DJ sets, we’re planning on hitting into our early-1960s jazz/soul collection and then, with live sets from The Vipers, head later into the 60s, 70s and beyond, as we play into the early hours. Everyone is welcome and we’re hoping to get people into the Christmas spirit.”

The event at Radius is licensed to run until 1am with advance tickets available at £10 each from band members, DJs or directly from the venue on 01733 560231.
