Get fit, lose weight, have fun and raise cash for charity in The Great Calorie Drive!
This is a Zumbathon with a difference and will consist of a longer than usual Zumba class with two instructors – Jenna Tudor and Sophie Hurford as part of a new Zumba initiative running until the end of June.
It’s called The Great Calorie Drive with the messsage ‘Don’t just burn calories – donate them!’. All you have to do is download an app to your smart phone and check in to a class when you go along. When you do this Zumba will donate 750 calories worth of food to countries in need as you burn off the calories in class.
Organiser Jenna Tudor told ESP – “We went to the Zumba instructor conference in LA earlier this year where we first heard about this and knew we wanted to get involved straight away. Rather than just incorporate it into our classes, we wanted to take it further and make it bigger which is why we’ve collaborated and put this on, so that we can get a mass donation of calories donated to help countries suffering with hunger.”
So to play your part just head to The Voyager Academy on Saturday April 27, it’s being held from 12.00-1.30 and it’s £5 in advance to take part or £7 on the door.
