Cars wanted for Transport Festival.
After the success of their initial Transport Festival event held last year the Nene Valley Railway have decided to broaden the spectrum of their classic car gala and will be running a weekend long event for 2013.
The Transport Festival which will be held on July 27 and 28 this year will have different vehicles of interest at every station (cars at one, buses at another, commercial vehicles at yet another etc) and those attending will be encouraged to jump onto the train and ride from station to station taking in the spectacle.
If you own a classic vehicle the NVR would like you to come along on one of the days.
The team at NVR would love to see anything made before 1985 with wheels or wings. Indeed if you have a classic boat they’d love to see that too! (Wansford station fronts onto the River Nene). There is only one real rule – all vehicles must be driven or ridden to the event as they don’t have enough space for trailers.
To reward those who are bringing a classic along the NVR will issue a voucher for half-price rail tickets to the driver and any passengers (yes even if you bring a bus load of pals!)
They’ll also be offering some behind the scenes tours for a few lucky enthusiasts on a first come first served on the day.
There is no need to book just give the railway a call or send them an email to find out where your particular type of vehicle will be located then… Turn up on the day!
