CALLING ALL BUDDING CHEFS

Here’s your chance to win a competition for your recipe to feature at the VIP preview of Café Clarkes at the Key Theatre.

Café Clarkes will open to the public on May 24, serving up traditional British food with a modern twist. Owners Dinesh Odedra and Lee Clarke want you to help them celebrate at their special VIP preview on Friday May 10.

For you and your guest to win a place Café Clarkes are inviting you to submit your own recipes. The winning recipe will be turned into a canapé which will be served at the preview that you will be invited to. Not only that, you’ll be given the chance to spend the day being chef alongside Lee and Samantha Bateman, Head Chef at Café Clarkes.

Lee Clarke told ESP – “Café Clarkes is all about a modern approach to good old British favourites, all made from locally sourced produce. Cooking is big at the moment and there are lots of budding chefs out there. For this competition we’re looking for recipes with a unique twist, a twist on the usual bangers and mash for example, fish and chips or rhubarb and custard. Something a bit fun and with a lot of flavour.”

Dinesh and Lee run Clarkes restaurant on Lincoln Road and The Banyan Tree in Westgate and Werrington. Each has developed a reputation for top quality food with excellent service. Café Clarkes will be no exception. They’re excited at developing a Café that can serve both theatre goers but also those that just want to chill out and eat at such a great riverside location.

The competition deadline is April 30 2013. You need to submit your full recipe; including ingredients and a picture of you with the final creation to Café Clarkes facebook page (Café Clarkes at Key Theatre), post it or drop it in person at the Key Theatre box office, Embankment Road, Peterborough, PE1 1EF. The winner will see their recipe served at the opening.

Nine runners up will also all receive invites for them and a guest to the VIP preview.
