The good hearted team at Buckles have done it again…
We’ve got to say well done to the oar-some team of rowers from Buckles Solicitors LLP – crowned charity champions following their efforts at the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival.
The Buckles team raised £3,500. As a thank you for their efforts, they will enjoy an evening ‘at the dogs’ – a private raceview suite for up to 40 guests with finger buffet and a sponsored race, courtesy of Peterborough Greyhound Stadium.
Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice community fundraiser Nilesh Patel said: “Once again the team at Buckles Solicitors have demonstrated their commitment to having a lot of fun while fundraising for their local hospice. We were delighted to have them on board once again at the Festival and thrilled to receive such an incredible amount of money.
“Buckles Solicitors and the other teams who chose to support Thorpe Hall Hospice at the Festival have together raised more than £13,000 – that amount could pay for a hospice nurse for more than four months – a brilliant effort by a lot of people.”
The team was among 30+ crews to take part in the 19th annual dragon boat race organised by Gable Events, including ESP magazine’s very own Motley Crew, held at the Peterborough Rowing Lake, Thorpe Meadows.
No strangers to fundraising, Buckles – which has offices in Peterborough, Stamford and Nottingham – were the official sponsors of this year’s Rutland Water Family Bike Ride in aid of the NPSCC and are among the sponsors of October’s Perkins Engines Great Eastern Run.
The company recently made a donation to the Little Miracles charity – which supports families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions – to help fund its bereavement counselling service.
