Everyone’s favourite soap villain Brendan Brady from Hollyoaks is the latest celeb to join the bank holiday fun at Truckfest.

Actor Emmet Scanlon who’s found legions of fans after starring as bad boy Brendan now replaces Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle who was originally scheduled to appear.

This May Bank Holiday (May 5 & 6) sees a star studded Truckfest, at the East of England Showground, Peterborough.

Truckfest has now become the biggest event to be held at The Showground and is also a firm favourite with families, thanks to the combination of main arena action, celebrities and children’s attractions, not to forget the hundreds of trade stands.

This year will be no exception as soap superstar Michelle Collins, of Eastenders and Coronation Street fame, makes an appearance on the Sunday and on Monday at Truckfest it will now be Emmett Scanlan of Hollyoaks fame.

Star of Ice Road Truckers Lisa Kelly, will be making an appearance on both days at Truckfest.

Another great addition to the line up is ‘The Beast from the East’ jet truck which was one of the main attractions in the spectacular closing ceremony of the Paralympics 2012! Rihanna, Jay-Z and Coldplay were also seen performing on the vehicle in front of a 1 billion viewer audience during the London 2012 ceremony.


The Beast from the East is a bespoke 4-wheel drive made from titanium panels taken from Mig-21 fighter planes, with its design based on an East German army truck and will appear in the main arena on both days.

For the children the famous MOSHI MONSTERS will be at the show.

In addition to motorcycle display teams and over 1,000 trucks appearing at the show, thisevent will come alive with the best known monster truck of all putting in an appearance, namely BIGFOOT.

Event Director Colin Ward told ESP – “It really is the perfect family day out now; with so much to see and do. We have fabulous trucks coming from all the UK and Europe”.
