It’s been a favourite on the nightlife scene for many years but Bar Rock in Peterborough closes on Saturday July 27 to make way for a new venue…
The Luminar Group who operate three Peterborough nightclubs – Liquid, Envy and New York New York – have announced the launch of the town’s newest bar concept MYU, which will open its doors to the public with a VIP launch night on Friday August 9 and a grand opening event on Saturday August 10.
Currently known as Bar Rock, owners the Luminar Group will transform the venue on Northminster into a high quality, stylish new bar.
General manager, Geraldine Young told ESP – “Chicago Rock Café and Bar Rock have a long history in the town, but we felt the time was right to give the bar a new look and feel. When it launches, Myu Bar will offer a modern interior with a new luxurious lounge area. It will be a great place to chill out, socialise with friends and dance the night away.”
Bar Rock will close its doors on Saturday July 27 and, to commemorate the end of an era, will be throwing the biggest party in Peterborough.
“We recognise that Chicago Rock Café and Bar Rock were popular destinations for a lot of people and we want to celebrate that, whilst looking forward to the launch of a great new venue that will provide a fantastic night out and, we hope will become the place to be in Peterborough,” adds Geraldine.
Myu Bar will open on Friday August 9 with a VIP invite launch night including cocktail flarers and live entertainment. Once open, the bar will offer free entry before 12am and a fantastic range of cocktails, a tasty new wine menu and a wide selection of 2-4-1 Drinks. The bar will be open on Friday and Saturday nights.
