THORNEY READY TO GO LIVE WITH BANK HOLIDAY MUSIC FESTIVAL

It’s amazing to think that the Thorney Live Charity Music Festival is in its 24th year and still going strong so get ready for a day of fantastic live music.

It takes place as usual in the  grounds of Bedford Hall in Thorney on Sunday August 25 starting at 11.30am.

The festival was the brainchild of Andy Stuffins who wanted to make the event one of the leading music festivals in the area, and also raise important funds for local and national charities. So far £67,000 has been raised and this year’s beneficiaries will be The Duke of Bedford School, Leukemia UK and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Once again the organisers have assembled a really strong line up of bands: The live music stage features six bands, each performing an hour set and begins at 12.30pm. The running order begins with the very versatile Deps who are followed on stage by party band Irene’s Secret and the 11 piece soul covers band, The Agents.

There must have been a lot of thought into providing music for all tastes because these are followed at 4.30pm by rockabilly trio The Broadcasters and then punk and new wave from The Expletives. The final headline act is Flashback Photograph whose progress has been covered in ESP and who are establishing a very strong reputation nationally. Great to see them closing the show at Thorney.

The live stage acts are going to be cleverly glued together by appearances from local singer/songwriter, Andy Hughes, who is a very talented multi-instrumentalist and he’ll be performing in between bands.

The day is aimed at the family with things for the youngsters and food and drink in abundant supply.

You can catch the XL bus from Queensgate Bus Station Thorney and for any further information go to the website www.thorneylive.co.uk.
