Run the Perkins Great Eastern Run on behalf of Arthritis Research UK…
One in every 6 people in Peterborough has arthritis (including children). Do you know one of those people? Or is it you?
National Arthritis Week is taking place from October 7-13 this year. To end this week with a bang, Arthritis Research UK is looking for as many people to take part in the Perkins Great Eastern Run (October 13) as possible.
Over 10 million people in the UK live with the pain and disability caused by arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Arthritis can affect people of all ages, having a devastating impact on their quality of life.
Arthritis Research UK receives no government funding. All proceeds raised through fundraising events will go towards funding the charity’s pioneering research into the cause and treatment of arthritis.
The Regional Fundraising Manager for Arthritis Research UK, Michael Clarke, said – “Despite arthritis affecting so many people, it is often overshadowed by other causes. That’s why I hope plenty of people get behind National Arthritis Week and help us spread the word of what my great charity does. I have spoken to many people in Peterborough with arthritis who have told me they’re in a lot less pain thanks to treatments that Arthritis Research UK has pioneered and developed. We can only continue with people raising the much needed funds for us.”
