STUDENTS ASKED ‘WHY RETAIL MATTERS’

Calling all young shoppers – Queensgate needs your views!

During national Retail Matters Week (October 9-13), Queensgate Shopping Centre is inviting students in Peterborough to share their views on the future of modern retail.

The regional shopping centre is asking students aged between 15 and 17 to respond to a simple question:

Where do you see the future of shopping centre retail in the next 10 years.”

In 50-100 words, students are invited to think about the direction of retail, what consumers want and how commerce is rapidly evolving.

The student with the best response, determined by Queensgate’s senior management, will be awarded £250 for his or her school plus £100 Queensgate Gift Card for themselves.

The winner and a guest will be invited to Queensgate for a behind-the-scenes tour of the region’s biggest shopping centre. They will be introduced to staff from a variety Queensgate’s sectors, including environment management, marketing, security, commercialisation and a one to one meeting with the centre director, Mark Broadhead.

He said: “It’s important to listen to the future generations and understand their perception of retail and how they see the future of shopping. A career in retail offers many avenues and opportunities and each role plays an important part in bringing together a great customer experience. We look forward to reading some insightful entries.”

The deadline for entry is Tuesday October 31 and answers should be sent to marketing@queensgatecm.co.uk. The winning entry will be announced on Friday November 3.
