There's plenty of comedy coming our way and Stewart Lee is just one of the top performers appearing at Peterborough's New Theatre. ESP's comedy columnist Sarah Slack is a big fan and recommends you grab a ticket quick...

Regular readers will no doubt know already how much I love the work of Stewart Lee, with his live performances, riveting reads and his amazing show ‘Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle’ helping to provide him with a notable reputation as one of the country’s most loved intellectual comedians.

It’s therefore great to see that he’ll be bringing back to the New Theatre a brand new performance of his Snowflake/Tornado show – only this time with new material and a different perspective on world events than the one he had when he last performed this show in Peterborough back in February 2020!

Performing this month on Saturday May 21, this show will consist of two 60 minute sets back to back, which will combine Stewart’s views on his position in the comedy marketplace after a mistaken Netflix listing, as well as his questioning of his liberal values in the current political climate.

Critics have already described the Snowflake/Tornado tour as ‘joyously funny’ (The Guardian) and ‘a virtuoso piece of physical comedy’ (The Telegraph).
