SIMPLY RED COMING TO PETERBOROUGH

Top soul and pop band Simply Red have announced they’ll be playing a huge concert in Peterborough next summer and tickets go on sale on Friday.

The live date in the city is the first of five performances in the region that Simply Red have announced for summer 2022. Mick Hucknall will bring his unique brand of UK soul and pop to Peterborough Embankment on June 11, 2022 with support from special guest, UK soulful dance diva, Lisa Stansfield.

Thousands of Simply Red fans are expected to flock to the event to hear one of the UK’s biggest bands perform a catalogue of their hits, including Something Got Me Started, Stars, Fairground and the US #1 hits, Holding Back The Years, and If You Don’t Know Me By Now.

Their live show is renowned for its high quality with Mick Hucknall long-established as one of the great vocalists of contemporary music.

Talking about the shows lined up for next summer Mick Hucknall said – “I’ve spent most of my life going out and singing for people, and it has felt strange not to have that for such a long time. It’s wonderfully inspiriting that people can go and see bands again now, and I can’t wait to get back on stage.”

Few bands have enjoyed the success and longevity of Simply Red. With over 60 million albums sold worldwide, 5 x UK #1 hit albums and over a billion views on YouTube, Simply Red remain one of the UK’s most successful bands. Their most recent album ‘Blue Eyed Soul’ was released in November 2019 and crashed into the UK charts at #6, proving Simply Red to be as relevant as ever.

Music fans will be in for a real treat as Lisa Stansfield also takes to the Peterborough stage. After being introduced to Coldcut in 1989, her guest vocals helped People Hold On storm the charts and led to a solo career which saw the Rochdale star conquer the world with her accessible soulful dance music.

Tickets for the Simply Red concert on the Embankment in Peterborough go on sale from 10am Friday November 26 from www.lphconcerts.co.uk
