SEE LA BOHEME ON SCREEN @ SHOWCASE

Showcase Peterborough presents one of the world’s most famous and loved operas, Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème, on Tuesday 15 January, at 7.15pm as part of The Royal Opera House’s Cinema Season.

This big screen performance is being shown ‘as live’ with the original filming taking place five days prior at the iconic Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.  This opening night show will be broadcast via satellite to select UK cinemas allowing Showcase Peterborough viewers the chance to book the best seats in the house to experience the magic of Puccini.

The Royal Opera House’s version of La Bohème returns to Covent Garden’s stage under the stewardship of the legendary British director, John Copley, who has been directing and producing this version of the classic since 1974.  Showcase Peterborough cinema-goers can see this for £12.50 general admission and £10 student and Insider members. Any fans that miss out on these opening night tickets have a second chance to see an encore performance that will be screened on Sunday January 20 at 1pm.

The John Copley version of La Bohème has run for 38 years and has been performed over 600 times by The Royal Opera House. The most memorable melodies are being sung by a superb international cast that boasts Maija Kovalevska as ‘Mimì’, Stefania Dovhan as ‘Musetta’, and baritone Audun Iversen as ‘Marcello’.
