The Cresset has drawn in some fantastic celebs in the past, and Premier Pantomimes’ Robin Hood will be no exception!
This year’s band of merry men includes former Corrie star Nick Cochrane (Andy McDonald in the soap) as Will Scarlett and sees the third Cresset panto appearance of Mitch Hewer (Skins/Britannia High/Casualty) as our hero in tights, Robin Hood!
Mitch is ready for a packed schedule of performances this month and told ESP – “I actually really enjoy it, it’s fun – you can’t really moan about hard work as a performer, I love the constant momentum and it’s over the Christmas period so everyone’s always really happy and full of the Christmas spirit, it’s a good vibe.
He continued, “I love it when the kids get really into it – especially when I run around the auditorium – the kids get screaming, it’s fun. And I love it when things go wrong!
One of our favourite panto baddies, Lawrence Stubbings returns as the nasty Sheriff of Nottingham and Zach Vanderfelt is back in glorious action as everyone’s favourite Dame with the best wigs, jokes and incredible frocks as Nurse Gertie Glucose!
Let’s not forget the ladies as Isabelle Lock (from the X Factor girlband Mon Amie) plays Pandora the witch and lovely Laura Wenton is Maid Marian.
When we caught up with Nick Cochrane he was already in cheeky form so we think you can expect a real laugh on stage!
“I’ll be dancing around and being stupid as that seems to be my forte! I absolutely love it,” he told ESP.
“It’s great fun. It’s a brilliant time of year, it’s great for the kids and I love every minute of it. I only have to stick to the script ‘ish’ – as the comic, silly element I have the licence to just mess about really.”
As well as a great show, the Cresset also tends to bring in an amazing audience. Sat amongst a full crowd surrounded by the sound of laughter is simply magical. I can’t wait.
Robin Hood runs from December 8 – 30. Book now on 01733 265705 or www.cresset.co.uk.
