We’re going ‘ga ga’ for PODS latest production of We Will Rock You – a killer of a great night out if you love Queen and musicals.
It’s not easy to scale a West End hit to local theatres but they’ve put their stamp on it and so far we haven’t been disappointed by a PODS production yet. We have some amazing local talent here and the opportunities groups like this provide for local performers is to be applauded.
The casting is great with everyone perfectly placed in their particular roles and confidently taking on their parts. They’re backed by an ensemble cast that really puts in the footwork in the choreography and the vocals in the songs. You’ll soon be joining in belting out hits like We Are the Champions and many other Queen favourites.

If you don’t know the storyline it’s a story set in a post-apocalyptic future where individuality is forbidden and music is controlled by the all-powerful Globalsoft Corporation.
Two young rebels are determined to fight back and set off to find like-minded supporters who aren’t just glued to computer generated music and absorbed by the internet, but who can vaguely remember when music was real and came from the soul.

The set works well with plenty of digital effects to bring it to life and they’ve gone to town on the costumes which looked amazing.
You’ll be caught up in the story as the songs come thick and fast and the lead characters bring you the laughs and the drama – before you know it you’ll be clapping along to the anthemic We Will Rock You just as we were.
The hard working performers gave it their all and received the standing ovation they deserved.
It’ll definitely rock you so don’t miss it at the Cresset this week running until Saturday April 11.
