The annual fundraising firework display at the Peterborough Arena was another huge success with thousands attending and thousands raised for local charities.
The organisers are still totting up all the figures but told ESP – “The Firework Fiesta event this year was a great success once again. Our prime objective of providing a safe environment for the local community to watch a Bonfire and Firework Display was achieved and there was a record attendance for our time at the Showground. The event has become increasingly popular year on year. It will not be until we get the final financial numbers that we will know the exact fundraising result.”
Firework Fiesta is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Minster and Round Table. Sponsored by BGL Group and Heart FM. All proceeds will be given to local charities and good causes.
ESP was there to capture the action at another fantastic event that has become the leading fireworks display in the area. Heart FM hosted the entertainment on stage and a fairground added to the family fun.
The good old British weather brought a few challenges but the organisers tell us they have that in hand for next year’s annual display.
“Due to the very wet weather prior to the event, the parking of cars was at times difficult, and with the high volume of cars there was a delay for some people leaving the venue at the end of the evening. We are already talking to Peterborough Arena about how to resolve this vehicle issue at next year’s event. We apologise for the delays and hope that everyone will continue to enjoy this value for money annual event.
“The main result is that we achieved a fantastic and safe firework display and are expecting to have raised a substantial amount of money for local charities and good causes.”
