Queensgate is starting its search to find the Shopping Centre’s 2015 to 2016 Charity of the Year, following a successful campaign of support for Kidney Research UK.
Peterborough-based Kidney Research UK was named the Shopping Centre’s charity partner in 2014 and has raised an incredible £12,000 to date. With further events planned until March this year, including a Valentine’s photo booth on Saturday February 14, Kidney Research UK hopes to further boost this total, which will be used to support vital research into kidney disease.
Queensgate will now begin the process of inviting local charities to come forward to be considered as its charity partner over a campaign period of twelve months.
“As we do each year, we are now ready to start the exciting process of inviting charities to be considered as our partner for 2015 and into 2016.”
Hannah Wysocki, Community Fundraiser at Kidney Research UK, said: “We have had a great year so far as Queensgate’s Charity of the Year, and I would urge local charities to apply. All of our events have been really well supported by everyone in Peterborough and we’re very grateful for their generosity.
“We’re looking forward to the next few months working with Queensgate as we’ve got a packed schedule ahead, including our Valentine’s Day event on Saturday February 14 and our Dance Extravaganza on Saturday March 27. We hope to see you there!”
