QUEENSGATE LOOKING FOR NEW CHARITY PARTNER

Local charities are being encouraged to get in touch with Queensgate shopping centre as they begin the search for a new charity partner.

2013 saw a successful year of fundraising with Sue Ryder – Thorpe Hall Hospice which is dedicated to providing specialist palliative care for those living with, or affected by, a serious illness.

Queensgate supported a number of events for the charity throughout 2013 including a tea party, flashmob and charity  Christmas gift wrap, plus fundraising at the centre’s Christmas light switch on.  All of these events have helped to raise more than £12,000 to date, with more fundraising events planned this year.

The search is now on for a new charity partner to work alongside Queensgate on a programme of fundraising activities, running from April 2014 until March 2015.

Sam Eastwood, centre director at Queensgate told ESP – “We are delighted to have been able to offer such valuable support to the Sue Ryder charity over the past twelve months and are proud to have helped them raise so much money.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers who have been so supportive throughout the year by generously donating at all of the events hosted at Queensgate.

“We look forward to finding a new charity partner this year and raising money to support the local community.”

To apply to be Queensgate’s charity partner from April 2014 to March 2015, please contact Queensgate on 01733 311666 for an application form – entries must be in by 28th February 2014 to be considered.
