PODS SHOWS CANCELLED AT THE CRESSET BUT A NEW MUSICAL IS ON THE WAY

Two Peterborough shows planned at The Cresset have had to be cancelled but the good news is work is well underway for a great new musical in November.

Peterborough Operatic Dramatic Society (PODS) were hoping to bring us two shows – The Vicar of Dibley and Unmasked, which were originally planned in January and then rescheduled to March.

Sadly the latest restrictions mean that both rehearsals and the performances themselves would be unable to go ahead, and so rather than postpone these events for a second time without knowing when they’ll be able to be delivered, the theatre’s decided to cancel them for now and will be contacting ticketholders in the coming days to discuss their options.

On the brighter side plans are moving along for PODS exciting productions of Elf the Musical in November 2021, and Shrek the Musical in May 2022.

Customers with tickets for The Vicar of Dibley or Unmasked will be given the option to transfer their tickets to either of these productions and benefit from a price match reduction in the process. Alternatively, full refunds will be available – and there is hope that the cancelled performances will be able to go ahead at some point in the future.

A spokesman for the theatre said – “The Cresset would like to thank all ticketholders for their patience and encourages customers to keep an eye on our social channels and website, where we’ll be posting the latest updates on all shows and rescheduled dates – despite the difficulties, The Cresset is still set on bringing some theatrical joy to audiences in 2021!”
