Amazon has delivered love to a Peterborough couple who work at the company’s centre in the city.
HR associate partner Dovile Gavrila and team lead Petrica Gavrila, found more than just a job when they joined Amazon. The couple who met and fell in love while working in Amazon’s Peterborough fulfilment centre, have been featured in a video which is being shared across the world after it was announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Dovile joined Amazon at the end of 2013, followed by Petrica almost three years later. It took an evening of karaoke after a post-Christmas work party for the pair to open up and get to know each other better.

They started dating and in the autumn of 2018, while on holiday in Corfu, Petrica proposed to Dovile. She said yes and they got married the following spring. Three years and several promotions later, the couple are still enjoying life and work at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Peterborough.
Dovile said: “We can honestly say that we make each other better people. We both started studying through Amazon’s Career Choice programme and recently got our Diplomas, soon will be starting new courses.”
Petrica added: “I am so happy that Amazon brought us together. We are lucky to work together and be able to spend more time with each other than most couples.”
In the lead up to Valentine’s Day, Amazon was inspired by Dovile and Petrica’s story and have featured them in a global video which is being shared worldwide after it was announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The video features a lighthearted sketch of an Amazon Scout delivery device and an Amazon Robotics device used in the company’s fulfilment centres, “falling in love”. While the video jokes about robots falling in love, it goes on to celebrate employees who have actually found love while working in the Amazon operations network.
