NIGHTCLUB REVAMP LOOKING HOT!

Celebs show their support for Edwards, Flares and Red Room’s swanky £400,000 upgrade! Mikey Clarke was at the opening for ESP…

Many years back (more than I care to mention) I was lucky enough to be given a regular slot DJ’ing at a local venue called The Music Room (now Red Room) – remember that place?

A while later I ended up playing the music in Flares and did so for quite a while. I have a lot of fond memories from my time at both venues and could certainly tell you a few stories from being there (for another time perhaps).

It’s great to see many of the regulars from my time there still visiting the popular venue these days – many of which I saw last Friday (19th May) at the launch of the all-new Flares!

The retro bar has been given a fantastic refurb – which looks and sounds (thanks to new equipment) amazing!

The evening included a glass of bubbly upon arrival with a few surprises throughout the night, including a table magician and numerous retro characters – one being a 10ft Austin Powers (thanks to his stilts).

With new seats, lighting and even lampshades set in the style of the good old days, it looks better than ever.

And it’s not just Flares getting a make-over. Edwards and Red Room will also be given the full works during the £400,000 investment.

All 3 rooms will be fully opened by this Friday (26 May), and the full launch will be celebrated by famous faces, including EastEnders star Jake Wood, N-Dubz rapper Dappy and Mall Grab.

The new-look includes brand new furnishings, unique bar furniture and innovative light and sound system throughout.

The venue will also be introducing a delicious new street-food pizza concept called ‘Nosh’ which will be available to eat in or takeaway until closing time. Also on offer will be a fantastic wide range of premium spirits, champagnes and cocktails including Martinis, Mojitos and Classics. For those looking for a bit of glamour and sparkle, the ‘G is for Gin’ is the perfect mix of Tanqueray, Elderflower cordial and Prosecco, or for something a bit fruitier, the Passion Fruit Appletini is a fabulous concoction of Smirnoff Vodka, Passoa and fresh apple juice.

Reasons to visit have been refreshed and relaunched including Tuesday night Salsa classes, Wednesday Karaoke, student night on Thursdays and post-work escape The Clocking Off Club. Once the weekend rolls around, the venue will once again be the place to be with infamous club nights Mixology, Vanity, So Dope and Throwback all featuring on monthly rotation.

Cem Ozkan; General Manager said: “We’re so excited to welcome new and old customers to this amazing new venue. I have no doubt this investment will ensure Edwards is the place to be in Peterborough Tuesday through to Saturday night. The majority of the work has gone towards improving customer satisfaction and speed of service, but most of all towards creating three unique atmospheres under one roof. With amazing offers, music and drinks throughout the week, we certainly won’t disappoint.”

So, no doubt I’ll see you in one of their three rooms soon! I tell you what, buy me a drink and I’ll even tell you some of the stories from my years there.
