NEW LOST WORLD THEMED PLAY CENTRE NOW OPEN IN PETERBOROUGH

The latest attraction for Peterborough youngsters is now open inside Serpentine Green shopping centre at Hampton.

Peterborough school children and their families packed the new Lost World soft play and activity centre (Friday March 13) eager to try out the great new facilities.

Vivacity, the charitable trust that operates many of Peterborough’s sports, leisure and cultural venues and events is behind the project and Lost World is themed on an ancient Aztec city, lost in the Amazon jungle.

It’s a fantastic new attraction that’s sorely needed for youngsters in Hampton and the surrounding area and we think its interactive climbing games, 5m climbing walls and an amazing 360° volcano slide give kids an incredible fun experience.

The 360° volcano slide and interactive climbing wall are the first of their kind in Peterborough. There’s so much to do including an indoor soft play area over three levels, a toddler’s play space as well as a café to relax in too.

It’s open seven days a week, and provides an exciting play experience for children, with a range of physical activities that are appropriate to different age groups.

Accessible to all, infants (up to 6 months) and accompanying adults will be able to access Lost World for free.

Chair of Vivacity, Stewart Francis said – “As a charity, every pound spent with Vivacity is reinvested in the city, in particular to support our engagement with schools on reading development as well as our iconic venues – the Lido, the Key Theatre and the Museum. This is just one part of our developing plan with the City Council to make Peterborough the most exciting city in Eastern England to live and work.

“We are very grateful to our principal partners who have supported us in the creation of the Lost World. Peterborough City Council and British Land (owner of Serpentine Green) have been instrumental in enabling the delivery of this fantastic children’s activity centre ahead of schedule. We thank them most sincerely.”

In addition to the activities for children, Lost World will also feature a relaxing coffee shop for parents, as well as a reading area and mini-library. Themed party rooms and party packages will also be on offer – what an amazing place it is to celebrate birthdays!

Lost World is open 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
