NEW CRAFT SHOP AT CITY COLLEGE

Looking for something a little different? Well there’s a new craft shop in town!
City College Peterborough on Brook Street has opened the new shop showcasing a range of handmade products created by talented learners from the Day Opportunities programme.
It gives learners and supported adults the chance to display and sell their creative work while developing valuable skills in crafting, enterprise, confidence and community engagement.
The Craft Shop features a fantastic range of handmade products created by learners from various Day Opportunities projects across the College. There’s a variety of unique handmade items, including bird boxes, aprons, resin crafts, keyrings and bug hotels.
If you’re looking for something a little more personalised, bespoke items can also be made to order, so it’s a unique opportunity to buy handcrafted gifts while supporting learner development and creativity. Every purchase helps celebrate the skills, achievements and hard work of the Day Opportunities learners with all purchases helping to support future creative projects and activities within the programme.
Barry Spicer, Senior Day Opportunities Manager said - "We are incredibly proud to open our new Craft Shop and showcase the creativity, dedication and hard work of our Day Opportunities learners.
"The shop provides a fantastic platform for learners to share their talents with the community while developing important life and employability skills.
"We hope colleagues, learners and local residents will come along, support the shop and celebrate the achievements of everyone involved."
The shop’s open Tuesdays 10:30 – 12:00, Wednesdays 10:00 – 12:00 / 13:00 – 15:00, Thursdays 10:00 – 12:00 and for the moment it’s cash only.
