Plans for an exciting new activity centre have been announced by Nene Park!
Proposals for the centre at Lakeside in Ferry Meadows include an Olympic-grade climbing wall alongside a natural themed indoor toddler play area designed to keep people active, whatever the weather.
Now the Trust is keen to hear your views on what they have planned, ahead of submitting a planning application. You can take a look at their ideas at a public exhibition on Saturday November 3 in the John Horrell Room at Ferry Meadows, just next to the Visitor Centre. It’ll run from 10am until 3pm.
It’s a great opportunity to hear more about the plans and share your thoughts with members of the Nene Park Trust team.
Matthew Bradbury, Chief Executive of Nene Park Trust said: “For us to truly deliver on our charitable objective of providing recreation facilities for the people of Peterborough, it’s important that we encourage people to visit Ferry Meadows all year round. To do that, we’re seeking to improve our indoor offering with the addition of a new climbing wall.
“We conducted a lot of research to help inform this potential new addition to Nene Park. Interest in climbing is rapidly increasing in the run up to its inclusion in the 2020 Olympic Games, and the indications are that new, Olympic standard climbing will really put Peterborough on the map.
“There will be options for people of all ages and abilities as part of the new centre, and we’re keen to find out what people think of our plans. We hope to attract large numbers of Peterborough residents to share their views on November 3rd.”
