End of weather woes as new phone app launched at the PECT Green Festival!
Hyperlocal Rainfall is a brand newphone app that will be launched at the PECT Green Festival, in Peterborough City Centre on Saturday August 13.
The aim of the app is to enable you to obtain incredibly accurate short-term rainfall predictions specific to your journey or location, which can be planned, viewed, and saved within the app, enabling you to be more confident to walk and cycle more by taking the weather into account and hence improve your health and wellbeing.
This new app has been funded by InnovateUK and is being delivered by the charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University, Loughborough Universityand Meniscus.
The feedback from testers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many reporting that the app has been incredibly accurate in its predictions, making it very useful for planning journeys. One tester said: “I am bowled over by it, it is so much better than anything else out there for telling you what is going on.”
On the day of its launch at the PECT Green Festival, just drop by the Hyperlocal Rainfall stand on Cathedral Square and download the app for free on your android phone.

Meet at the Guildhall in Cathedral Square and join a free, leisurely walk from the city centre using the Hyperlocal Rainfall app. There’s no need to book, and the route is wheelchair accessible.
