Following yesterday’s national announcement, the Key Theatre’s now confirmed that it’s one of the 1,500 venues worldwide that will be streaming Monty Python live from the O2 on Sunday July 20 from 7pm.
The 10 show run at the O2, some of which sold out within a minute, will be the final ever live performances from the Monty Python team with the Sunday performance being playfully dubbed, ‘The last night of the Pythons’.
A statement from the Pythons said: “Thanks to the wonderful invention of moving pictures, The Last Night of Monty Python is coming to a cinema near you. Get your knotted handkerchiefs out and warm your brains one last time at any one of 450 cinemas across the UK, and 1,500 across the world. Join the crowd live from London’s O2 in a final weepy, hilarious, uproarious, outrageous farewell to the five remaining Pythons as they head for The Old Jokes Home … on the big screen, in HD.”
Stephen Chalmers from the Key Theatre told ESP – “It’s absolutely fantastic that we will be a part of the worldwide live simulcast the ‘Last night of the Pythons’, our live streaming equipment is first class and to be selected as one of the theatres to screen this in the UK is a real honour. It’s great news for anyone that struggled to get one of the handful of remaining seats, and promises to be one of the funniest events of the year.”
