Festival vibes are coming to the city centre this weekend, and it’s all kicking off tonight!
Just like the big event at Worthy Farm, this weekend in Peterborough - brought to us by Peterborough positive, the city's BID - has got bigger and better with even more planned to create a festival feel at venues throughout the city centre.
Get your face paint on and head into Cathedral Square this weekend to watch the iconic Glastonbury Festival on the big screen for FREE and enjoy music, art and entertainment throughout the centre.
The festival atmosphere continues with live music across city centre venues, comedy acts and food vendors. From bands, to opera, and films to classic Glastonbury performances – it’s going to be a weekend to remember.
Head here for the full line-up www.peterboroughpositive.co.uk/portfolio/glastonbury-weekenderbut here’s a quick guide to just some of the things happening…
To celebrate Peterborough’s iconic Northern Soul scene of the 1970s, Malcolm Fovargue kicks off the Glastonbury Weekender line-up in Cathedral Square from 6-7pm tonight.
Malcolm will take you back to a time when hundreds danced the night away at the Phoenix Soul Club at the Wirrina, and Fleet all-nighters where Northern Soul ruled the dancefloor.

Then it’s Peterborough Cathedral’s turn with a unique, outdoor Old Skool Summer Disco in the Cloisters! Tonight (Friday June 27) you can relive the vibrant energy of Peterborough’s legendary clubbing era from the 1980s and 1990s dancing under the stars.
Paul Stainton and DJ Eddie Nash, names synonymous with Peterborough’s nightlife, are teaming up again, marking their first collaboration in over 35 years. Limited tickets are available on the door or book here; https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/.../old-skool-disco/p-lowxd
