FORMER POSH STAR JIMMY HEADS FOR THE JUNGLE

Posh fans will see former Peterborough United player Jimmy Bullard tackle the jungle creepy crawlies as he joins ITV’s I’m a  Celebrity Get Me Out of Here this weekend.

Jimmy is joining other celebs including Michael Buerk,  Craig Charles, Gemma Collins, Carl Fogarty MBE, Nadia Forde, Vicki Michelle, Tinchy Stryder, Melanie Sykes and Kendra Wilkinson.

During his time at Peterborough he scored 11 goals in 66 appearances for Posh and went on to play for Wigan, Hull City, Fulham, Ipswich Town and very briefly Milton Keynes Dons.

A Peterborough United club spokesman told ESP – “Jimmy Bullard was signed by Barry Fry from West Ham United and proved to be a big hit with the supporters with his goalscoring exploits from midfield. He was the life and soul of the dressing room during that time and fitted in very well. He always wanted to be the centre of attention, but did so with the best intentions.

“He scored some very memorable goals and earned his move to Wigan Athletic where he went on to be a crowd favourite. Jimmy bounced back from some very serious injuries and did so with a smile on his face, so we don’t expect him to fear the odd creepy crawly in the jungle, but do expect him to do a lot of talking to himself.”

Last year saw Westlife’s Kian Egan crowned King of The Jungle, with David Emanuel as runner up.

How will this year’s celebrities cope with being away from their loved ones? Sleeping in the wild? Lack of food? Sharing a camp with snakes, rats and creepy crawlies? And perhaps worst of all, adapting to spending 24 hours a day with their campmates?

Former Peterborough guy, life-long Posh fan and current broadcaster on talkSPORT, Adrian Durham, told ESP he thinks Jimmy will do well – “He was one of the most talented players we’ve had. He was a gifted midfielder, could pass the ball superbly, he was always hungry for the ball.

“As for the jungle, Jimmy is genuinely one of the funniest guys I have ever met so he should be a massive hit in ‘I’m a Celeb’. He’s a prankster, a joker and a great guy so he’ll be well worth watching.”

I’m A Celebrity returns to ITV on Sunday November 16 at 9pm but you can see him causing mischief in this video from his time at Posh… [youtube id=”H0ZHGFJUAYo” width=”600″ height=”350″]
