FOOD AND THEATRE IN ONE TASTY DISH COMING TO THE CITY

Here’s a tasty sounding fusion of food and theatre coming to the city this month.

The Chef Show at The Undercroft beneath Serpentine Green shopping centre is a delicious fusion of comedy play and cookery.

Two actors play all the roles in the story of a busy night in the local curry house. They are also joined by a local chef offering a spicy cookery demonstration. The night includes a chance to share food and conversation with the chef and the cast.

The story of The Chef Show centres on father and son Abdul and Khalid on a particularly busy night in their restaurant. As they struggle to deal with all of the customers ‘out front’ and the staff in the kitchen they also have to decide on the future of the family business. Will Khalid carry on the family business, or is this the end? Much of the fun of the show comes from seeing just two actors having to play multiple roles – in the same scene.

British Theatre Guide described The Chef Show as – ‘This is a chef’s special, a deliciously funny and occasionally dramatically-daring concoction of a play’.

The Yorkshire Post was equally impressed – ‘A stroke of genius. While it makes serious and urgent points that speak to the divisive times in which we are currently living, the play is also very funny. Humour, food and empathy – a potent and winning combination’.

You can the show in Peterborough on Wednesday February 28 at 7.30pm at The Undercroft at Serpentine Green, Hampton, Peterborough.

Tickets are £10 via: www.easternangles.co.uk or call 01473 211498.
