FIREWORK FIESTA GOES WITH A BANG!

Organisers say this year’s Firework Fiesta was another huge success and is set to have raised thousands for local charities.

The event held for the second year at Peterborough Arena at the East of England Showground featured on-stage entertainment hosted by Heart FM’s breakfast show presenters Kev & Ros.

They chatted to the Cresset panto cast including former Eastenders star Ricky Groves and there was music from former Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah.

Organised by the Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Minsters and the Round Table Club of Peterborough, Firework Fiesta was sponsored by leading city-based business Fusion, as part of a three-year commitment to the event.

Peterborough’s Firework Fiesta is one of the top five events of its kind in the country.

It started as a small-scale public event to reduce the then increasing number of accidents occurring at private firework parties in people’s gardens.

Over £500,000 has been raised for local charities and good causes during the past three decades.

The night is more than just fireworks though and making a welcome return to the venue – having supported Peter Andre and Liberty X at last month’s concert – were urban pop duo GTF, who’ve just released their debut single Wanna Be With You.

The grandstand was packed to capacity at the showground with thousands more spectators around the stadium enjoying spectacular fireworks set off at the rate of £1,000 per minute!

It’s no surprise after this fabulous display that Titanium Fireworks who masterminded the show will be going on to produce displays for the Hogmany celebrations in Edinburgh and on the London Eye.

Park House special needs school in Thorney won the design a guy competition and the fairground proved a bit hit.

The ESP promo team were there handing out the latest issue and our photographer Chris Brudenell captured the action.

It was another great success so here’s looking forward to November 2014!
